Quick Answer
KEG tests Modern Greek at CEFR A2, but it does not hand candidates one official vocabulary PDF. Use a theme map — people and identity, home and daily routine, travel and directions, health and services, study and work basics, shopping and food — and learn words inside short sentences you could hear or write under time pressure. Pair that with the Prep2Go Greek Ellinomatheia Anki deck for spaced repetition, and practice drills for rapid recall. App choices stay in the nested Apps comparison — we do not duplicate that review here.
Theme buckets that survive the exam clock
Split the week: two themes for receptive skills (recognition in listening and reading), one theme for production (writing and speaking). Move a word from “recognition” to “production” only after you can drop it into an original sentence without translating word-for-word from English.
Where A2 candidates leak marks
False friends, noun gender, and fixed verb collocations show up more often than exotic jargon. If a flashcard only lists the gloss in English, rewrite it with the article or a mini phrase — bare lists rarely survive timed Greek word order.
Grammar overlap
Use the grammar checklist so vocabulary study does not float away from agreement and basic tense control.
