Question 1

Can I take a DELE A2 mock test online without registration?

Accepted Answer

You can browse a free exam preview for DELE A2 (every screen and a sample report) on the mock test guide (https://www.prep2go.study/dele-a2-mock-test#mock-walkthrough) — no account required; there is no free scored mock. $15 = 3 timed mocks with AI reports; Pro $27 lifetime incl. 1 timed mock. Sign-in is only needed to save skill-practice progress.

Question 2

What is the DELE A2 pass score?

Accepted Answer

DELE A2 is marked out of 100 (25 per test). Apto needs at least 30/50 in Grupo 1 (Reading + Writing) and 30/50 in Grupo 2 (Listening + Speaking). Instituto Cervantes sets no separate per-test minimum, but a strong Grupo cannot rescue a weak one.

Question 3

What is the Grupo / pair rule in DELE A2?

Accepted Answer

DELE A2 scores skills in pairs: Grupo 1 (Reading + Writing) and Grupo 2 (Listening + Speaking). Each pair needs 30/50 (out of 100 points overall). A high total is not enough if one pair is below 30/50; there is no separate per-test minimum.

Question 4

When are the DELE A2 exam sessions in 2026?

Accepted Answer

Official general DELE A2 2026 sittings (Instituto Cervantes): February 13; April 17; May 23; October 17; November 13. April is Spain-only; there is no July general A2 sitting in 2026. Next written sitting: October 17, 2026; Cervantes registration for remaining 2026 A2 sittings has closed — confirm late seats with your centre. Confirm deadlines at https://examenes.cervantes.es/es/dele/cuando.

Question 5

How long does it take to prepare for DELE A2?

Accepted Answer

If you already have a base, run a mock 2–6 weeks before the exam and use the group/section report to close gaps. Starting from zero is a longer guided-practice path, not the quick final-check route.

Question 6

What sections does DELE A2 have?

Accepted Answer

DELE A2 has four tests: Reading (25 pts, 60 min, 4 tasks), Writing (25 pts, 45 min, 2 tasks), Listening (25 pts, 40 min, 4 tasks), Speaking (25 pts, 12 min + 12 min prep, 3 tasks). Scoring pairs: Grupo 1 = Reading+Writing, Grupo 2 = Listening+Speaking. The exam fee is €138 in Spain in 2026; other countries set their own price.

Question 7

Does DELE A2 count for Ley de Nietos citizenship?

Accepted Answer

Yes. DELE A2 is the required language exam for most citizenship applications under Ley de Memoria Democratica (2022). You must pass before submitting your application, and you need 30/50 per Grupo (Reading+Writing · Listening+Speaking) · out of 100 — overall score alone is not sufficient.

Question 8

Is DELE A2 required for Spanish citizenship after 10 years of residency?

Accepted Answer

Yes, unless you are exempt. Spanish nationality by residence, including the standard 10-year route, requires DELE A2 or higher plus the CCSE civics test (Ley 19/2015, Real Decreto 1004/2015). The DELE certificate does not expire. Nationals of countries where Spanish is an official language are exempt from DELE but still need to pass the CCSE. The exams are one part of the procedure; residence and other requirements also apply.

Question 9

How long is the DELE A2 certificate valid for citizenship?

Accepted Answer

DELE A2 certificates do not expire. Once you pass, the certificate remains valid permanently for Spanish citizenship applications.

Question 10

Do Latin American citizens need DELE A2 for Spanish citizenship?

Accepted Answer

Nationals of countries where Spanish is an official language, including Spanish-speaking Latin America, are exempt from DELE. They still need the CCSE civic exam. The DELE diploma does not expire.

Question 11

How long does it take to get Spanish citizenship from Latin America?

Accepted Answer

Citizens of Latin American countries qualify for Spanish citizenship after 2 years of legal residency, compared to 10 years for most other nationalities. DELE A2 and CCSE are still required regardless of native language.

Question 12

Do I need Spanish before using Prep2Go?

Accepted Answer

Native and near-A2 candidates can use Prep2Go mainly as a readiness check. Complete beginners can use Pro guided practice, but should expect a longer timeline than the final mock-and-vocabulary workflow.

Question 13

How is DELE A2 different from other Spanish exams?

Accepted Answer

DELE A2 is Instituto Cervantes' official A2 diploma and the minimum Spanish certificate accepted for nationality by residence (the CCSE civics test is required too). It's more rigorous than general Spanish language apps and requires exam-specific preparation, not just conversational fluency.

Question 14

What is the difference between DELE A2 and CCSE?

Accepted Answer

DELE A2 tests Spanish language proficiency across reading, listening, writing, and speaking. CCSE tests civic knowledge about Spain. They are separate exams with separate registration and both may be required depending on your citizenship route.
