Exam tip
When you hear 'si' in a listening item, pause mentally and check what condition it introduces — the correct answer to a fee or service question often hides inside that 'si' clause, not in the general statement around it.

Lena: Hola, buenos días. Quiero abrir una cuenta corriente, por favor.
Marcos: Perfecto. ¿Tiene usted el pasaporte y el NIE?
Lena: Sí, los tengo aquí. Y también tengo el certificado de empadronamiento.
Marcos: Muy bien. El empadronamiento no es obligatorio, pero ayuda mucho. Gracias.
Lena: Genial. ¿Y cuándo llega la tarjeta de débito? ¿La recojo aquí en el banco?
Marcos: No, no la recoge aquí. La tarjeta llega a su domicilio en siete días.
Lena: Ah, en siete días, a casa. Entendido.
Marcos: Exacto. Ahora, sobre las comisiones: la cuenta tiene una comisión mensual de ocho euros.
Lena: ¿Ocho euros? Eso es bastante...
Marcos: Pero, si domicilia usted la nómina en esta cuenta, la cuenta es sin comisiones.
Lena: ¿Solo si domicilio la nómina?
Marcos: Solo si domicilia la nómina, sí. Sin nómina, hay comisión.
Lena: Vale, voy a domiciliar la nómina entonces. No hay problema.
Marcos: Perfecto. Y también le ofrezco una tarjeta de crédito, sin coste el primer año.
Lena: No, gracias. Solo quiero la tarjeta de débito, por ahora.
Marcos: Como prefiera. Entonces firmamos aquí y ya está todo listo.
