Numbers for life in Portugal: age, door codes, and everyday counts without freezing.
Age pattern
Portuguese uses ter (to have) for age — not ser.
- Tenho 28 anos.
- Ele tem 40 anos.
- Quantos anos tens?
Trap: sou 28
English “I am 28” becomes “Tenho 28 anos” — never “Sou 28”.
- Tenho vinte e cinco anos.
- Não: Sou vinte e cinco.
