Format, the 72/120 written mark, the 22/40 oral, and the one-year carry-over are on the CELI 2 page.
Quick Answer
Three distinct situations appear in CVCL’s regolamento. (a) Capitalizzazione: if you pass the written part (reading, writing, listening — 72/120) but fail the oral (under 22/40), or the reverse, the passed block stays valid for one year; you register only for the failed part, pay 70% of the exam fee, and must keep the same CELI level and exam type. (b) Documented illness on the day: with a medical certificate you may sit the immediately following session at the same centre without paying the fee again — you still submit a registration by that session’s deadline. (c) Fail both parts: treat the next attempt as a full new entry and pay the centre’s published full fee; there is no carry-over. Other absence reasons are decided case by case by CVCL — do not generalise those into a free retake for a bad score.
Capitalizzazione — one strong block, one weak block
The written part is the combined reading, writing and listening papers (120 points). The oral block is scored out of 40. Keep the calendar implication practical: you must book a session while the carry-over window still applies — verify the exact session pairing with your centre when you pay the 70% resit rate.
Illness before or on exam day
Medical proof buys a seat at the next session with the fee waived when the regolamento conditions are met — you still respect that session’s registration cut-off. Absence for other motives is not auto-approved; CVCL reviews those files individually.
Both parts below the line
No partial credit applies — plan a full prep pass using the structure guide, fresh papers, and a new invoice from the centre.
