Format, the 50/100 pass mark, the 5/25 floor, and each test are on the DELF B2 page.
Quick Answer
Your centre tells you how and when provisional results or attestations appear and when the official diploma is ready for collection or post. France Éducation international awards the DELF. The centre's notice is the timeline for your sitting. The diploma itself: DELF/DALF qualifications from the Ministry of National Education do not have an expiry date — they are valid for life. A score below 50/100, or below 5/25 on any of the four tests, fails the whole session. A passed paper does not carry to a later sitting.
A DELF diploma is the document France Éducation international awards. TCF and TEF issue their own attestations. If the dossier asks for French B2, confirm whether it names DELF/DALF.
How FEI states the pass rule
You need 50/100 overall and at least 5/25 on each of the four tests; below 5/25 on any paper is eliminatory. Falling below 50/100 overall also fails the session. There is no “keep listening, resit speaking later” within DELF — see retake for what that means for your next registration.
Diploma validity for life
France Éducation international lists DELF/DALF diplomas as issued by the Ministry of National Education without an end date — they remain valid. Store PDFs or scans your centre provides and keep the original secure if you received paper.
What your centre still controls
Centres communicate provisional outcomes, collect diplomas when they arrive from the network, and answer “when can I pick this up?” That schedule varies. Ask at registration so you are not guessing from a second-hand forum post.
If the session is a fail
You register again for the full DELF B2 at a centre with an open session. Start from dates and registration, then rebuild the weak paper using the structure guide before you pay twice.
Rebuild with the right clocks
Use the DELF B2 mock walkthrough to see how fast 30 minutes of listening, 60 minutes of reading, 60 minutes of writing, and the oral block actually feel before you pay for another full session.
