Format, the 50/100 pass mark, the 5/25 floor, and each test are on the DELF B2 page.
Quick Answer
Arrive with the identity document the centre printed on your convocation — no substitutions unless they approved them in advance. The collective written tests run listening (30 minutes, two exercises), reading (60 minutes, two exercises), and writing (60 minutes, one text of at least 250 words). Production orale lasts 20 minutes in two parts after 30 minutes of preparation; centres administer it individually and may place it on a different day from the written block. Confirm reporting times in the convocation, not from a social post about another city.
Pack the night before: document, convocation printout, glasses if you need them for screens or paper, and a watch you are allowed to wear — many centres ban smartwatches. Charge devices only if the centre permits them in waiting areas; the exam room follows the invigilator, not your usual café rules.
Collective block: listening, reading, writing
Expect three consecutive papers without merging breaks across centres — follow local instructions. Listening and reading reward close reading of instructions; writing needs a visible plan before you draft so you do not stall at 200 words with ten minutes left.
Oral: preparation, timing, scheduling
You normally receive 30 minutes to prepare before the two-part oral totalling 20 minutes. Some centres run orals in the afternoon of the written day; others spread them across a week. Your convocation states which applies to you.
ID and centre rules
If your passport number changed after booking, tell the centre before exam week. At the door, mismatched ID wastes money because DELF does not offer paper carry-over — a fail or a denied entry is always a full-session problem for B2.
After the last paper
Ask where results will appear and how the centre delivers attestations or diplomas — timelines are local. For what “fail” means across tests, read results and diploma.
