1. Exam Structure & Scoring
DELE A2 is marked out of 100 (25 per test). Apto needs at least 30/50 in Grupo 1 (Reading + Writing) and 30/50 in Grupo 2 (Listening + Speaking). Instituto Cervantes sets no separate per-test minimum, but a strong Grupo cannot rescue a weak one.

Key difference from CIPLE: DELE A2 groups skills into pairs (Grupos) — Grupo 1 (Reading + Writing) and Grupo 2 (Listening + Speaking). You need 30/50 per Grupo; a strong skill can offset a weak one inside its pair, but not across pairs.
2. Preparation Timeline
How long you need depends on your starting level:
- Complete beginners (A0): 12-16 weeks, 100+ hours
- Basic level (A1): 8-12 weeks, 80-100 hours
- Near A2 level: 6-8 weeks, 60-80 hours
- Native speakers: 2-3 weeks
3. Vocabulary & High-Frequency Words
You need approximately 1,000-1,500 words for passive understanding and 500-800 for active use. Focus on these Spanish exam topics:
